Dead Days and Goldfish!

Today is the beginning of loverly Dead Days. If you're not familiar of it, it's basically two days (Thursday and Friday) during the week before finals where we have no school. Dead Days are supposed to be used so that you have two full days of studying for finals. I spent it...studying for an hour, and now eating goldfish crackers...they are the wholesome snack that smiles back!!

I may go to a movie tonight, and maybe shop with the sister tomorrow. Yes I am utilizing my Dead Days to the fullest! Ok, seriously I will study!!! I have three finals next week. Two on Monday and an enormi one on Wednesday. It is absolutely fantastic that my Physiology final is comprehensive!!! I hope you took note in the sarcasm! I am not excited at all about it, but looking back at my notes it's all coming back to me. Wonderful!!

This Saturday is supposed to be a meteor shower...I believe the Germinids. Or something like that. I was hoping to bonfire it this time, but the forecast predicts RAIN! What the heck! So hopefully one of these days a bonfire on the beach will happen and it will be great! We will see!

As for Winter Break coming up, I can't tell you how excited I am!!! Hopefully it will be spent drawing, doing some interning, and resting up. I am thoroughly excited! I'm also that maybe..just maybe!!! My mom and I will make a trip down to Chula Vista to tour the Olympic Training Center. How cool would that be?! Of course I think it's cool, cause why not?! Definitely hoping that will happen. Such a shame Chula Vista is sooooo far south from where we are. Can you say...EXTREME Road Trip?! But hey...what's traveling down to Chula Vista when compared to traveling to Las Cruces New Mexico?! It's a piece of pie!!!

I hope everyone is in good spirits this holiday season! I am trying to be. I do need to get some Christmas cards!!! lol. Boy o boy...I still have one more person to finish up on Christmas shopping...but I am done with most. Ok...off to the races!!

'Tis the Season!

ELLO!!! And Season's Greetings! Last night was opening night of Christmas Tree Lane. If you're not familiar with it, it's basically a few blocks of houses all decked out with Christmas lights, decorations, etc. As per tradition with my mama we went last night to opening night. There's only a couple days where you can walked down Christmas Tree Lane, and the rest of the time you drive down it. They have lights hung from tree to tree, and music playing. It's just wreaks of Christmas cheer. So in the FREEZING temperatures my mama, my bubba (dog), and I walked down the lane. It was all fine and dandy except Buffy was completely freaked out with the amount of people and instantly jumped up on me to imply "Mom, carry me!" So that I did...taking turns with "Grandma" haha. Bubba was in her Christmas Sweater and inside my jacket. She did manage to walk a little bit until we'd hit a spot where there'd be more people, in which case, she freaked out again, and well...wanted to be carried. Other than that, I had a great time. The decorations are starting to become repititive so there's not a house that just looks new. There is one house on the block towards the end that goes all out. I don't have a picture of it, but it's amazing. Pretty much it's ideal that they're the last house on Christmas Tree Lane. It's great! Tons of lights, lasers, a train, "snow", a giant lit clock tower thing...it's crazy! But all in all, it was a great time...and definitely marked the Christmas Season!!!

In other news, finals are in two weeks! Thank goodness. I'm so ready for this semester to be done with. Next semester in March I'll be writing how petrified I am for my interview for the Athletic Training program. In which I'll write about in my other blog regarding that journey! Otherwise, I am done with my Christmas shopping...sort of, and hopefully some plans I've made with some people will follow through. I'm definitely looking forward to this winter break as I feel it is MUCH needed!! So until then I will keep this post short. Until next time!

Thanksgiving Break overview

SOo....Thanksgiving was interesting to say the least.

The Plan: Go to my Grandma's house and celebrate this wonderous fill your face with food holiday with my Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, Cousin's GF, both Grannies, the Sister, Sister's Fiancee, Mi madre y mi papa.

The Plan (cont.): Uncle to fry the Turkey.

The Problem: Turkey fryer didn't work.

The BIGGER Problem: Hungry people

The Deal: To have Thanksgiving or to have a crappy Thanksgiving.

Time Elapse: Hour

The Solution: Turkey Fryer worked again. Await another hour or so, then head over to the Grandma's house.

The End: Had Thanksgiving dinner as planned.

The Next Day: Have another Thanksgiving dinner.

This amounts to: Shayne being fat and happy!!! BWAHAHAH!

So yes Thanksgiving was on the ropes, but in the end we all got together and spent it at my Grandma's house which she was very very happy about. When I was younger we used to have a lot of these family get togethers during the holidays, but as everyone got older, the fam bam holidays didn't happen so much. So it was nice having a fam bam holiday again.

On a Side Note: I became sick. I can't breathe worth anything, and I drool at night because I can't breathe! I chose to share that with everyone, because...now you understand that I really CAN'T breathe haha.

In Other News: I am starting to feel a little better :)

The End: Well...The End :)

Oooo no!!!!!

So I woke up today with a scratchy feeling in my throat! NOT HAPPY! I have spent a majority of this semester trying to avoid the "Bug." Let us hope that my immune system will fight it off. So...here's to lots of fluid, meds, and airborne...even though I've heard airborned doesn't work haha. Oh well. Let us hope for thee best!!

Chistmas Shopping and Etta James!

One thing about online shopping, it's in the comfort of your own home. I'm currently sitting at the kitchen table, searching for my sister's christmas present. What did she ask for for Christmas?! A Louis Vuitton purse, or Coco Chanel. And well, lets just say, I do not have $1000-$3000 laying around. Although if it were that easy, I would definitely want to buy her one. She did ask for Michael Kors which is a little "cheaper" still expensive for a college student! So maybe...she'll get one of his purses. We'll see. I'm also listening to some Etta James online, and some other artists who have similar styles to Etta James! So I'm loving it. Quite nice actually. I also keep hearing car doors closing in the front, but I'm not sure if it's at our place. Oh well. That was a little random if I do say so myself!

Which strangely reminds me to post up a picture of my 12 String Guitar...eek! I did however, buy a Ukulele yesterday. I'm quite pleased. Although not made in Hawaii (I'm not complaining!) it's a great little starter Uke for me! It's a Fender Tenor Ukulele. I just love it!

Ok, so I thought I'd take a little break from online browsing to post this little blog. A little boring I know, maybe I'll do some vlogs or something. Ok, maybe not.

Well folks, I hope you are enjoying what's left of the day. I'm trying to. I have a meeting to head out to in a bit for the trip to Spain! I should be doing some studying..I need a 92 on this next test...why?! Because it'd be VERY helpful in the long run. The semster's running down, and I'm still trying to climb out of this hole I dug for myself! OY VEY!

Ok, that's all for now folks. Have a good one :)

PS If I haven't written already, the PFX Tour was awesome! That is all.

12 String Guitar for Sale!!!

About a year ago I purchased a 12 String guitar. I was intrigued with the 12 stringer when I played one at Guitar Center. Hence I thought of buying one. However, upon purchasing it, I sadly have only played it a good handful of times. I have a 6 String and I tend to keep coming back to it as old and banged up as it is. It's like a trustworthy friend haha. So I plan on selling my 12 Stringer.

The Mitchell MD100S12 is a full-sized 12-string dreadnought guitar with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. This quality built guitar has all the traditional elements you would expect to find in instruments costing much more. Abalone rosette and purfling accents highlight this beauty. With plenty of volume and low-end tone, you can expect years of playing pleasure with the orchestral power of this 12-stringed guitar.

Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar Features:

It's that Time of Year again...

So far we haven't even hit Thanksgiving and I have seen about a good handful of Christmas commercials slowly making their way on the air. Is it me...or did they come a little early this year? It sure seems like it haha. Well, a lot may know that Christmas time (second to Thanksgiving) is one of my favorite times of the year. Although it may not be good, it's the time of year I get to spend a lot of money on those I care about. I guess I like the feeling of giving...my problem: I like exceeding people's expectations...which usually means...more money. It's a bad habit that I suppose comes with my incessant need to please peeps. I have no idea. What can I say? I love wrapping the presents, and giving the presents. It is of course the season of giving :) SO I am thoroughly excited. I just have to go get some mulahah from my bank. O joy!

I also enjoy our somewhat newer tradition of walking down Christmas Tree Lane. For those who don't know...it's a few blocks of decked out houses in Christmas decor. Although it seems that it's getting smaller and smaller which is definitely unfortunate. I always remember driving down Christmas Tree Lane when I was little, and my mom would put the car radio onto the station playing all the Christmas songs. I'd sit in the back of the car in awe of all the lights and all the amazing outlandish things people did/do to their houses. For as long as I can remember, the Lane also puts out Santa's reindeers throughout different areas, and I would sit there and try to find all of them. Some homes haven't changed their decorations, like the Raggedy Ann/Andy workshop, and some houses have new decorations like the over-the-top house that could almost look like a part of Disneyland it's so decked out. It's just a great way to get into the Holiday spirit!! I'm looking forward to this years!

All this talk about the Holidays makes me want to start my Christmas shopping today...which was the plan until the laziness kicked. Who knows...maybe the next post I'll write a little bit about how I spend too much on people.

On a side note to which many may not care for: PFX tour starts tomorrow! I'll be heading over there Saturday I believe, so I'm excited!

Stuff Coming Up that I am Thoroughly Excited About!

Ok, I guess I could've thought of this one last night, instead of posting the useless not fun at all Snippets haha. Oh well.

1) UFC 105 is coming up this Saturday! Which means.....Family Fight Night! So yes, I am excited. That also means I get to see my Sister, which also means we get to eat food :) And ooo I should've asked her to make those BOMB Taquitos she made. Note to self!

2) The PFX tour is also this weekend. Yes, I am excited about this, and I'm sure many little Softballers are as well. A place where the Amateur's meet the Pro's...ah isn't it lovely? Especially since I don't even play Softball haha. I mostly go for the Pro Game and basking in the environment, as well as meeting some pro's. Last Year's PFX Tour was amazing.

3) Lack of school. So with Veteran's day comes no school on Wednesday which means no lab on Thursdays which in turn leads to three whole days of no school (today was another day of no school) Now the part I need to work on...taking advantage of these days and study!! Yuck!

4) Christmas is coming up, and that's the best time of the year...it means I get to spend too much money on those I care about. Ah it's lovely. Now my sister had asked for a LV bag, unfortunately I do not have 1000 + dollars, or else I would have. Oh well.

5) It's basketball season. That is all.

6) Turkey Day. How can I not put Turkey Day on this list?! It's great! It's by far my favorite holiday for the simple fact of...I get to eat...and eat....oh did I mention....eat. haha. Yes I love Thanksgiving food. It's just as good as our New Year's Japanese Feast we have. Oh loverly!!

7) Gabe Bondoc on December 18th. How can I not be excited about this?!

I think that's all for now. I know if may not be exciting for you, but for me...it's definitely exciting for me! Muahahah!

I Seem to Forget sometimes

Been a while!!! Not like a lot of people (if any) reads this haha.

Up...to buy or not to buy that is the question.

I guess I'm gonna snippet.

I have a minor busy day tomorrow. This pleases me. I enjoy being busy...to sit around and do nothing productive bothers me. Yet...I can't sit and study. Strange.

Almost done with the semester! YAY! or no Yay. It's a toss up.

Watching One Tree Hill. Why is there no Lucas and Peyton...it's just not the same, oh well.

Ate at a new restaurant that has the BEST rice ever! Yes I can tell the difference and if you took the time to notice, you might taste the difference as well! Ok, so I'm asian and it shows!

I believe I'm going to go do some A.T. tomorrow at practice. I need the hours, and what can I say? I love this stuff!

This is getting rather boring. I guess I should write my paper that's due in December muahaha~!!!

Ok this one is beyond Lame...peace and grease!

Sox II

September 3rd had to have been one of the saddest days of my life. My puppy of 14 years passed away due to Pancreatitis or maybe Pancreatic Cancer. All it took was one day and she was gone. Just like that, as quick as could be. Although I cried my eyes out for a majority of that day, I think I'm still in some disbelief. I guess you could say it hasn't exactly hit me. Some people may not understand how hard it is to lose your dog because some people see dogs as just animals, and maybe others have never had one, but for those who love their dog as a part of their family it's definitely tough. Thus, losing Sox was like losing a piece of my family.

I remember when I first got Sox. I was only around 8 years old, and my first dog (Sox the first) had been in an accident and passed. My grandma took myself and my cousin out to look for a new dog. We ended up at PetSmart. I remember looking around and my Grandma pointed Sox out to me. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted her because I thought she was going to grow up into a big dog. My grandma said if you don't want her then we'll just leave, and I couldn't leave her. I remember looking into the cage and she was with two other dogs who were playing and Sox was sitting quietly looking very timid in the back corner. We took Sox to see my Mom and Dad at their places of work to see if they would give the o.k. and they did. So my Grandma got me my second puppy.

Sox wasn't exactly a puppy, she was probably about a year or two already. I couldn't decided on what to name her. She was black and white just like my other dog, and the name Oreo came to mind. After a while it just didn't fit. So what better for a dog who had four little white paws than to name her Sox....the second. Either I lacked in creativity or it was just suiting.

When Sox first came home I remember we all thought something was wrong with her because she would just sit on the step in our house and stare. Needless to say, it creeped us out a little bit haha. But after a while she got used to us and well...she became the Sox we all know and love.

I've had Sox for more than half my life. She was there for everything and I basically grew up with her. I mean I was only 8 and I'm now 22. It's a large amount of time. So it's hard to imagine the rest of my days without her. I still think she's here. Right now it's like she's sleeping under my bed like she always did when it was bedtime. When I wake up, I expect her to be laying in the most random spot on my floor, and following me to the bathroom. I expect her to run down the hall before me and head to the kitchen because she knew I was going to make my breakfast for the morning. And when I come home I expect her to be waiting for me with the other two dogs on the otherside of the door when I walk in. When I sit in the computer room I still think she's under the computer desk sleeping, or when I eat at the table she'll be by my side begging for something to drop. That persistent dog who could sit under a cutting board for hours patiently waiting for something to fall from the sky. I'll miss that.

I'll miss a lot of things about her. I'll miss how happy she would be when we'd say "Walk walk" because she loved walks. I so much wish that I had taken her to the beach more because she absolutely loved it. She was a beach dog and I know she's a dog, but sometimes you can just see it in their face that they're loving what they're doing.

I guess the house seems quieter now without her barking at random things that she'd hear. And I don't hear her dragging her paws on our new wood floor in the house. There will be no more tedious hair cuts or baths for her. And I won't see her slipping and sliding everywhere after her bath. She may not have liked to cuddle and was a more independent kind of dog, but she was the best dog. She was my four legged best friend who has always been here and there for me through everything. It's hard knowing that when I wake up in the morning, I won't find her anywhere. So maybe for some you can't understand what it's like, and it may sound completely silly that I write this about a dog. But to me Sox wasn't just my dog, she was a companion, best friend, and everything that that little 8 year old girl could have asked for.

May she Rest In Peace...and hey All Dogs go to Heaven right....but Sox...stay out of the garbage!!! :p

I'm gonna eat Pizza Yo!

Why Ello good people...I find myself at a road block in how to even start this blog...lame. We'll start with the beach!

Yesterday my mom and I took the kids (my two pups Sox and buffy) to the beach. Sox as experience has shown...loves the beach. I've been wanting to take her cause she simply comes alive...she seems generally happy. We went to San Simean...a beach I haven't gone to...it was nice I liked it. The weather was nice...better than this 90 degree stuff. We got on the beach and I ran Sox into the water and she had a blast. Buffy on the otherhand...not a huge fan of water haha. We only stayed for a little bit.

Then we ventured a little further down the road to see the Elephant Seals which are not the cutest creature on this earth haha. But I did like the seals. They were pretty cute.

Anyhoots...we ate a nice little restaurant with an ocean view and then headed on back home. Overall fun great quick trip! Up next...well...i'm still working on Six Flags haha. We'll See!!

So today I started off the day with a P90X workout...I was in pain haha. I felt good afterwards...my arms were tired, but oh well. I also caught the WPS playoff game between the Washington Freedom and Sky Blue FC. This game was awesome in the second half with all three goals being scored. It got pretty intense towards the end. Natasha Kai was definitely a spark off the bench scoring a goal and coming oh so close to another. Sky Blue won it defeating the Freedom for the first time of the season...and then they play St. Louis Athletica next week I believe. Now I'm watching the Bandits play the Thunder in Softball. Bandits up 1-0. I'm awaiting the Carano/Cyborg fight. I bought the fight online since I don't have showtime. It's gratefully cheaper than pay per view and cheaper than a ticket and gas to go to San Jose...so I'm pleased. Hopefully it's good quality though.

That's all for now, i'm pretty bland right now haha. But oh well. I have a week of lovely vacation left before H-E-double L's starts...by that I mean school and by school I mean a crazy schedule and Physiology. Woot!

Perseid Meteor Shower and Soccer

So last night was one of the nights to catch the Perseid Meteor Shower. I haven't seen one, and was actually looking forward to it: NERD STATUS haha. I waited until about 12 packed up my pup in a backpack haha and headed up to the roof and sat till about 2. Within that time I saw 11. So I'm not complaining, but I had hoped that it would have been a little more miraculous. Maybe I called it "quits" too early. It did look a little hazy so maybe I didn't see all the ones that flew by. Overall, it was ok...maybe I'll give it another go tonight. ORrrrr maybe not!

Just finished watching the World Cup qualifying game between the US and Mexico...we hung in there till Mexico took the lead and won 2-1. I must say...it got a little rowdy, but who's complaining? Sessy men scuffling?? hahah. Boy those fans are rowdy too, a little horrible in my opinion simply because I may be too goody goody...but throwing cups at the players on the field...c'mon!!!

I guess today's a lazy/sports day...i'm watching Full House awaiting some softball Rockford/Chicago to come online. Vote on whether Softball's back in the Olympics for 2016 is tomorrow! Back Softball!!!

I need a "better" life haha. Beach this Friday...I'm excited...Six Flags next week I think...even more excited! Hope everyone's having a great day..this post was lame but whatevers.

Jajajjaja

So after wondering what the heck my google account sign in stuff was...I finally figured it out...thus I am able to post again...not like anyone reads this stuff right? So here's a quick update:
Summer so far:
-Read three books
-Put in wood floors
-Painting the walls of the house
-Redecorated my room (actually took stuff down)
-Went to San Francisco
-Watched my first WPS game (FC Gold Pride vs. Washington Freedom)
-Had Fight Night this past Saturday
-Currently awaiting the weekend to head to the beach
-Wanting to go to Six Flags with mi bfff!

Ok...all caught up...right? Sure. I'm now watching Jon and Kate plus 8...I still don't know why I like this show, but I do. I saw Julie & Julia with my mama this past weekend...LOVED IT! It was good...Meryl Streep did a great job as Julia Child...I laughed. I finally started to draw again...I guess I just needed some type of muse. I found one...this will be my second softball player (Jessica Mendoza was the first) that I draw. I think I should do a soccer player next...which I'm guess might be Natasha Kai. Maybe I'll draw a dude...I guess I think girls are easier to draw :/ Is that true? I have no idea. So I estimate this drawing to be finished sometime soon...I hope.

Lemme talk a little about fight night...it was great! The fights...were so so. But the main event was worth it. I love BJ Penn...he did his thing against KenFlo and needless to say I was happy. Kenny bugged me when he fought Roger Huerta cause his strategy of hit and RUN around in circles around the octagon was annoying. Although when you think about it...it was smart, but c'mon. So I enjoyed watching BJ submitting him. I felt incredibly embarrassed for Forrest Griffin. And the rest of the fights...geesh. And yes, that one fighter looked like a manly Perez Hilton haha!

So school starts up in a couple weeks...and I'm not looking forward to it. Mainly because I'm taking Physiology which is basically a grade/GPA suicide class. I passed anatomy, but Phys is supposed to be tons harder especially here at State. Oh well. I will try. Hence my classes are fairly...easy classes.

Ok, so this will be all for now. If I remember I'm gonna put up some pictures from the beach. We're taking my puppy Sox to the beach cause I know she loves it there. We're leaving Buffy at home though which I'm sure she won't be pleased, but I feel Sox needs a special day. So until next time folks!

Linda's a Homewrecker!

Ok...so I can't get over this story about the same sex penguin couple Harry and Pepper from the San Fracisco Zoo. I actually never even heard of them until after watching Regis and Kelly this morning to find that they have split up. How sad! Apparently the couple even incubated an egg and took care of it...which of course wasn't their egg (it was actually Harry's half sibling I guess). Then comes this lady Penguin Linda. Her partner had passed away I believe and soon after began to court Harry and what do you know...Harry switched teams leaving poor Pepper by himself! So in essence...Linda you're a homewrecker! hahahah. Oh the Animal Kingdom...it amazes me sometimes. Who knew?!

1999 Women's World Cup

There's something special about today...today marks the 10 year Anniversary of one of the greatest female sporting events win ever in front of one of the biggest crowds, the Women's World Cup! On July 10, 1999 the US Women's National Soccer team were set to take on China in the finals set in The Rose Bowl in front of 90,000 fans and millions on t.v. Many people may only remember it for Brandi Chastain's penalty kick victory celebration, but it was also a momentous moment for women's soccer and in particular the US Women's National Soccer Team. I remember that day so clearly I 11 years old sitting in the dining room and glued to the television. I will admit, at that time I was a newcomer to the team and had only seen a few games on ESPN prior to the tournament. During that time Brandi Chastain was my favorite player along with Shannon MacMillan. I remember sitting anxiously awaiting the PK's after a full 120 minutes went by. I cheered after Carla Overbeck made her shot, then Joy Fawcett, Kristine Lilly, Mia Hamm, and then finally Brandi Chastain. I specifically remember after Brandi made her PK I ran into the kitchen and screamed to my mom:
"Mom we won!!! Brandi went up for a penalty kick and then she took her jersey off!" hahaha. It was a great moment and one that definitely left a mark in my memory.

There were so many other moments from the whole tournament that I won't forget. It's the little things that maybe some people don't remember. Like Brandi's own goal...then coming back in the 2nd to tie up a game against Germany. Then the goal by Joy Fawcett from a Shannon MacMillan corner which won a bet against Kate Markgraf (Sobrero) which caused her hair to be dyed Red. Or Tisha Venturini's backflip goal celebration. Even in the finals Lil's header that took a chance away from the Chinese as well as Bri's save during one of China's pk shots. All of it was just a pure show of soccer and women's soccer for that matter. What can I say? Each one of those players created history and put women's soccer on the map. It's a shame they didn't get the same response/respect in 1991. This '99 team I will never forget, and although the teams and newcomers to play for the US are just as amazing, the team itself will never be the same than that 1999 Women's World Cup Champion team.

Happy WWC'99 Anniversay soccer fans!!!

Just a side note: I think they should replay the World Cup today just because it has been 10 years...c'mon! haha Ah I miss this team :)

August 15th - Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

I do, and I definitely want to head to San Jo come August 15th for a couple reasons. 1. I'd like to travel out of town sometime...ever since L.A. I've had the travel bug and although there's not as much to see in San Jo there is one thing I'd LOVE to see...which brings me to 2. Strikeforce is holding fights in the HP and who's headlining the fights? Well...Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg. C'mon who wouldn't want to see this fight?? It's supposedly gonna be HUGE! Not only is this the first time women fighters are headlining a fightcard...it's also two Muay Thai powerhouses going at it. I'm excited, and I'm hoping to go...or get Showtime for one day hha...if that's even possible. Of course my vote goes with Gina if anyone was wondering...but Cyborg scares me hahah.

Busy Day...castles, bagels, and fights?

Today was an extremely busy day...well kind of. My sister, mom, and I went out to look at model homes. This is something we used to do a lot when I was little. I, for some reason, found it really fun to go out on weekends and go into these homes and climb the stairs haha. Today served a different purpose rather than entertainment for a five year old. We were looking at flooring. We're looking to do some changes around the house and flooring is one of them. On our journey of searching for different homes we came across the most absolutely astonishing homes...and this is purely from the exterior. Of course being in such shock, I didn't pull out my camera, but needless to say...WOW! It was the perfect picture of what I would want my "Dream Home" to look like. They were Gary McDonald Homes, and thus it will be a name I won't forget when I hopefully one day find myself in a career that can help me produce millions of dollars for a million dollar home. *cough cough* it's not likely, but a girl can dream right? RIGHT! haha.

Afterwards we headed out to eat and after ordering three meals, each requesting a certain ingredient taken out, there was a lady in particular who had a more complicated order. The quote for the day, "Bagels are chewy, like rags!" HAHAHA.

Once we finished we dropped my sister off at her house and headed back to home, and I took a nap to try and replenish. My dad and I were heading out to the fights held at the fairground here. By fights I mean MMA fights. We got there at around 6, the fights were scheduled to start at 7, even though they didn't start till closer to 8. It was extremely hot and an experience in itself. But the best part was:

WOOT WOOT!

Travel Bug

After our little Road Trip mini vacation to Los Angeles, I've had a travel itch. I want to head back to L.A. and see more, I want to travel up and down California or something. Surely I'd love to go out of State, but lets keep it...mmm...somewhat reasonable in price haha. I thought it'd be fun to just hop on a train and get off at random stops and explore...but I don't know if I can be that spontaneous...I could. Maybe a trip to the "happiest place on earth" would be nice! Or Six Flags, Universal Studios...I don't know...something. I definitely want to head to the beach because why not? And San Fran will have to be a stop on this imaginary road trip...I'll probably end up in Sacramento to catch a Monarchs game :) Who knows...hopefully I'll get this travel bug taken care of. Is it me or do we type more with the left hand than we do with the right?? haha..random thought of the day!

Lazy Saturday and the O.C.

Today has been incredibly lazy. I need more to do over the summer. Thus I have started my summer tradition of watching the O.C. So far it's not going well. I'm too a.d.d. and antsy to sit around and watch all four seasons. I'm making my way through the first season. For some reason I feel it's not as great as it once was my first time doing this whole marathon. I think I've moved on to bigger better things...like wanting a Hills marathon?? haha LAME! My mom and I were supposed to join a gym...that has yet to happen. So I've been enjoying my food haha.

Also today I was sitting around watching the Fifa Conferderation Cup. It started with the New Zealand/Iraq game, but that proved to be somewhat uneventful. So I switched over to the Spain/South Africa game, and it was more eventful. It doesn't hurt that there were some good looking guys out on the field...i.e. Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique. Maybe that's just me :)

Tomorrow's Father's Day...we're having a little bbq. My sister's coming over with the pup and hopefully it should be fun. I also am trying to find a place that will graciously take me in to help volunteer and get some hours for my Athletic Training stuffs. Hopefully I find one soon. Because committing myself to 200 hours during the semster while taking Physiology at the same time...not a good idea. Here's to hoping!!!

The Hills!

On Monday June 15th my friend, mom, and I departed for a trip to "The Hills." The incentive was simple: Buy Lauren Conrad's new book and go to her book signing. Some would call this lame, some would call us crazy, I would just call it: All Good Fun! Sure the incentive isn't exactly what some would consider to be "Normal" but c'mon, I'm living life! Lauren's signing was schedule at The Grove in Barnes and Noble on the 16th, which gave us a little time to look around. We stayed at Farmer's Daughter Hotel, which was a nice quaint little farmer like hotel. I couldn't complain. We walked around The Grove to "case the joint" and it was great. The Grove reminded me of Faneuil Hall in Boston. Tons of different stores, shops, and places to eat. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory which wasn't exactly adventurous since we have one here where we live. Afterwards we simply called it a day since we didn't get to L.A. till about 5ish.

June 16th...The Day of Days!

We woke up around 630 to get an early start on the day knowing that the Book Signing was at 7, we figured getting there by 4 would be ok. We started the day off by eating breakfast at the Hotel restaurant Tart...which you may have seen on Daddy's Girls, or The Hills, and some others. It was interesting being in L.A. knowing that it's the city of movie stars, musicians, directors, models, etc. What do you know? There happened to be a photo shoot/commercial shoot going on at the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and we headed back to the room to finish getting ready and then we hit the road.

If you happen to be planning a trip to L.A. and want to be close to everything tourist-e, I suggest staying at Farmer's Daughter. It's a short walk from Farmer's Market, The Grove. It's also about 20 minutes from Venice Beach, 4 minutes from La Brea Park, 20 or so from Griffith Park, maybe 8 minutes from the Chinese Theater...it's right there.

We headed out to Venice Beach next. I had wanted to Venice Beach when my other friend and I went to Manhattan Beach for a couple of basketball games. Unfortunately, we never got around to it, but this time around we did. I loved it! The atmosphere was great! A lot of little shops and vendors, although some of the things they were selling were a little....out there. But the Beach itself was wonderful. I found it better than Pismo, Avila, Santa Barbara...that's just to me. It's the type of atmosphere you see on tv, movies, or in books. Oh and to top it off, while driving to go get food I spotted Terra Naomi walking on the sidewalk...I should've just gotten out and asked for a picture with her....oh well hhaha.

Afterwards we headed out for a little food. We ended up at Pink's hot dogs. If you're a fan of the Food Network you may have seen this stop on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives which is exactly where my mom spotted it. They had different types of hot dogs to choose from, which some not so normal toppings that you would expect on a hot dog. For example, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes. It was vacation time, so that meant be adventurous. I tried the Chicago Polish hot dog mild. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, relish, and mustard...I got mine without onions and relish being I'm not that big of a fan...overall it was DELICIOUS!!! Definitely the BEST hot dog I've ever eaten! My mom got a chili/sauerkraut dog, and my friend got a guadalajara dog. They both liked their dogs as well.

(Chicago Polish, Chili/Sauerkraut, Guadalajara)

After Pink's we headed up to Griffith Park Observatory so we could spot the Hollywood sign. We got up there and took some pics of the sign and went through the observatory itself. Then by the time we finished there and headed back to the hotel it was about 340. Just in time for the purpose of the event. We left around 348 to Barnes and Noble just to see if it was already crowded...the Barnes and Noble is three stories high, and book signings take place on the 3rd floor. We reached the top and saw there was already a line forming! So we went down, bought our books, and got our wristbands (you needed one or else you couldn't be in line) then headed up. So from 4 we sat in line awaiting till the signing started. Sounds crazy I know. But the line quickly grew.

Basic rules of the signing: No posed pictures, pictures were only to be taken from the signing line. No personalizations. Nothing but the book could be autographed. Also, if you weren't in line by 630pm then you lost your spot. So as the time neared 630 I thought I should take a quick potty break just in case. Headed out of the line to the bathroom, and when I came out of the bathroom and started walking back, I saw none other than Ross Matthews!!!! I freaked out, ran after him and his friend Ryan before they walked away. If you didn't know already i'm a HUGE Ross fan. I watched his Ross Blog on nbc.com when he still had it up and running, and I read his Ross Blog and catch his Inside Dish vids. Yes, I've always wanted to meet him, he always made my day making me laugh on his blogs. So this was a GREAT surprise. To see him and Ryan in person was crazy! Surreal even. So I got to take this:
This absolutely just the Cherry on Top to the trip!!!! Ross and Ryan were both SO NICE! They're great people, and I felt lucky.

So after my encounter with Ross I headed back to the line. Anticipation arose when it became 630 and everyone was wondering where and when Lauren would show up. Paparazzi were all lined around with their cameras. It was a mixed crowd of loads of teenage girls, some boys, some older girls/guys, and a handful of moms. The closer we got to 7 the crazier people became. Once Lauren walked out, it was pandemonium!! It was like being at an NSync concert all over again...the screaming girls haha. Lauren walked up to the front at the signing table and took pictures with her books, and then the line started moving. It was a pretty short wait, and the closer we got to Lauren the more excited we were!! She's just as nice and pretty as is on t.v. Because of the quick pace of the line I was unable to get a picture...which disappointed me greatly...but I couldn't help but realize how lucky I already was being there and getting her to sign my book...meeting Ross and Ryan...and having a GREAT trip overall. So I'm saying now, there will hopefully be another time I get to meet Lauren and this time get a picture with her instead of one that looks like this:

Oh well. On a side note: keep your fingers crossed you may see us on Inside Dish :) No promises though. But who knows!!!

After the signing we headed out to search for some place to eat. We were thinking Sushi and there are TONS of sushi restaurants in L.A....I mean WOW! We were going to go eat at a place called Jinpachi, but we found it was a little more "upper class" and we were a little "Underdressed" so we went on a hunt and saw a place called Umai. So we ate there. As we were sitting there we noticed there were nothing but Men around, and men in pairs. Come to find...we were eating in what seemed to be the "Gay District." I found this hilarious...and had no problems sitting there hahah.

The last day we went to J-Town (Japan Town) and bought some stuff there and then headed home. So overall, this trip was great. Why? Because even though I know I would never, I came home saying, "I would live here" haha but we know I really wouldn't!

Found this on one of Gabe's sites

Huge Gabe Bondoc fan, hence while looking at his Tumblr, I came across this :)

How to Install LOVE

Tech Support: Hello … how can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install
Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you
located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now.
Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running ?

Customer: Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge
and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt
from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent
memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will
eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High
Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and
Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed.
Can you turn those off ?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke
Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and
Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that
normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base
program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get
the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error
- Program not run on external components.” What should I do?

Tech Support: Don’t worry. It means that the Love program is set
up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In
non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before
you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the
following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your
Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The
system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty
programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all
directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely
gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files.
Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying
themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but
eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed
and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure
to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in
turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

The Killer Squirrel

While walking with my friend to the Science building, I swear I almost was attacked/tackled by a squirrel. It took the defensive evasive stance and we both tried to dodge each other, needless to say I ran...and yes it's a squirrel I understand that haha, but you never know! Later walking back to my friend's dorm, that squirrel was out for vengence...or something. It even had a weapon. Put a Pin in It #1.

Starting this Thing Up...Again

Yesterday I was thinking, "I should stick a Pin in it!" One of my favorite sayings to say when something memorable happens or momentous. Yes, I did hear it from the movie "Bolt." So no, not so original on my part. If there are some strangers to this sucker, and my Pinned up moments just aren't exactly what you were thinking...so be it. I will guarantee there may be some quite Random, and maybe Not so Funny (to you) things posted up on here, but hey, just so I can remember some stuff down the line...I figured why not? So after this, I think I will post my first "Pin."
